How to judge the quality when choosing kitchen cabinets? Buying a big brand is not necessarily a good one, it depends on each part, every accessory determines the quality.
Kitchen cabinets have several major components: cabinet body, cabinet doors, hardware, countertops, and back panels. Other small details: the water retaining edge on the countertop, the corner of the base cabinet, the skirting line, the edge banding of the cabinet body and the cabinet door, these are all necessary. In addition, there are drawers, pull baskets, hanging doors and damping of drawers.
Let’s talk about the cabinet door first. For any cabinet door that can be shaped, the base material is either MDF, or solid wood composite or solid wood. Solid wood is definitely strong and beautiful, but it is expensive and may deform if it is not handled properly.
According to the surface treatment process, the cabinet door can be divided into many types:
Melamine: old-fashioned, old-fashioned.
Blister: It can be made into many shapes and tricks, usually white and rural style.
Dual finishes: now the mainstream of the kitchen cabinet market. It is an upgraded version of melamine board, and its craftsmanship, quality and aesthetics are much better than the previous ones. The double veneer has a beautiful alias called “ecological board”.
Baking paint: the advantage is that it has many colors and looks good. The disadvantage is that it is not strong and easy to bump. Cabinet door paint is also divided into double-sided paint and single-sided paint, double-sided is much more expensive than single-sided.
PET film: A layer of transparent PET film is attached to the surface of the melamine double veneer panel. The paint-free panels without PET film before are all matte, but some customers like bright panels, so this new process has been studied in the market according to the requirements of customers. PET and acrylic are not based on the same principle. Although they are both plastics, there is a gap in performance. PET has high hardness and is not afraid of being scalded.
Stainless steel: With stainless steel countertops, there is a cold industrial style.
Crystal steel: A layer of tempered glass is pasted on the outside of the aluminum alloy frame spray paint. The advantage is that the tempered glass is wear-resistant.
There are some other details to note:
The water retaining edge on the countertop: it is definitely not good, but because quartz stone is difficult to process, it is necessary to pay attention to communicate with the factory in advance.
Floor cabinets and cabinet corners: divided into adjustable and non-adjustable, as long as they stand upright, they can’t be seen even if they are blocked.
Baseboard: There are aluminum alloy and plastic. If you want to choose, it is recommended to choose aluminum alloy, which is strong.
